Vision Statement We have a vision of the time that the Kingdom of God is a reality in the Alabama-Northwest Florida region - when the Community of Christ comprises a prophetic people and a witnessing community and when each congregation reaches out to the community as an expression of God's love and grace. We envision a time when all people, as servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, have a passion for the Christ and love as He loved; when they demonstrate the gospel principles in their daily living, when they utilize their giftedness in godly pursuits; when they recognize the worth of all peoples, and when joy abounds and peace prevails. Goals 1. Discipleship Growth Each person (exceptions: children, aging members, etc.) who is not a member of an outreach group will be a member of a LIFE group. Diverse persons will be active participants in appropriate ways within the Body of Christ, growing spiritually and mentally Every congregation will function as a loving family and their leaders will function as a tightly knit, caring, competent team. Members will engage in intentional study Members will participate in listening circles. Members will contribute generously of their resources to build the Kingdom. Church facilities will be clean, orderly, inviting, and well maintained. Facilitators: Pastors, congregation leaders, priesthood, Covenant Discipleship groups, Listening Circle groups, MC and congregation finance ministers, evangelists, Advisory Council members 2. Missionary Outreach Every congregation will be a warm, welcoming, witnessing body to all those who come in contact with the Church Each member (exceptions: children, aging members, etc.) who is not a member of a Covenant Discipleship Group will be a member of a LIFE group Facilitators: Les Kelly, Cluster Coordinators, George Blais, small group leaders, congregational missionary coordinators and teams, congregational leaders 3. Priesthood Renewal and Magnification Priesthood members will function actively in their respective offices, participating in ways that magnify their calling and bring quality servant ministry to the people. Congregational Support by High Priests High Priests will bring high priestly ministry to one or more specific congregations, joining with congregational leaders to achieve congregation's mission and goals Facilitators: Darrell Kelly, high priests, Mission Center presidency 5. Giftedness Discovery and Use Congregational members and friends will discover their gifts, develop their gifts, and use them to further the purposes of the Kingdom. Pastoral Support Each pastor will receive ongoing support through the Mission Center Facilitators: Pam Cress (Pastors of Excellence), evangelists, Mission Center presidency, high priests 7. Leadership Training and Application Emerging leaders will be identified and will participate in leadership training, working in the field under the direction of an assigned priesthood member who is also engaged in ongoing leadership training.
